Before and After

FAQ

Q: What exactly is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
A: BOTOX® is a highly purified protein injected into the skin to relax the muscles that cause some kinds of wrinkles.

Q: What problems will BOTOX® treat?
A: In addition to over 180 medical uses, BOTOX® has many cosmetic uses, including treatment of frown lines, worry lines across the forehead, crow's feet lines, certain lines around the mouth, and excessively sweaty armpits, palms, and feet. In some patients relief from migraine headaches is an added benefit.

Q: Will my facial expressions continue to look natural?
A: The results are dramatic, a treatment with Botox will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you “had work done.” The muscle activity that causes the lines to form is simply reduced, so you can frown, smile, or look surprised without the creases and wrinkles.

Q
: When will I start to see results?

A: You should begin to see a significant improvement within a few days. If you refer to the before and after photos you can get a good idea of what you will look like 7 day post treatment.

Q: Do the injections hurt?
A: The needles for BOTOX® are very small and patients are often surprised at how little pain BOTOX® injections cause.

Q: What are the risks?
A: The most common side effect is a mild amount of droopiness in an eyelid that lasts about 10 days without treatment. This is a rare occurrence. As with any time you get an injection anywhere in your body, a small bruise is possible.

Q: Who should not use BOTOX® Cosmetic?
A: Women who are pregnant or who hope to become pregnant, who are breast-feeding, and people who are taking certain antibiotics, have neuromuscular disorders or an allergy to BOTOX® - should not have injections.

Q: Will I need to get more BOTOX® each time I come in?
A: Patients who receive BOTOX® frequently for one or two years typically require less BOTOX® each time.
